Little Girl Lost

A little over two decades ago a new life began. A tiny little girl began her existence on earth with an entire lifetime ahead of her. She was put on this earth through her parents by God to do two things… to love and to be loved.

.

As she grew she learned, her father was mesmerized by her dark brown eyes and as with all of his children would do anything to make sure his child learned as she grew, was healthy, happy and would weep when any of them were in pain. This was his youngest child and would be his last miracle. While he taught her many things the one thing he was certain to talk about was Jesus.

.

He would also share with her some of the other fascinating things about how other people worshipped within their own religion. While he was not a religious man he was and still is spiritual. He believes a church is not necessary to be spiritual but a belief and faith in God or some supreme being is. His teachings have had an effect on all of his children and each has their own true beliefs about God and Jesus.

.

As this little girl developed into a young woman it was apparent that her beliefs were strong and very personal. Her life did not revolve around God but she respected the entity and used that respect in the way she dealt with other people and how she approached things that would come up. Her friends were many and each had a special place and while it was painful for her father to let her go there was a time when it was evident.

.

She bore a son who was a miracle in his own way. Deep brown eyes like his mother and was loved by everyone. His father was an interesting fellow who would soon realize a life long commitment to his son. With his support and that of the now grown little girl the new baby was baptized in a Christian church. The boy’s grandfather was proud and knew that part of his life’s task was to teach his grandson about God and how the Supreme Being had an effect on his own life.

The time approaches as this baby boy with the deep brown eyes grows and his Mother and Father decide that it was time they unite in marriage. To the girl’s father a marriage is a union of two people who love each other and are prepared to work together for a common goal. In this case the goal is to raise a little boy to be a happy and healthy adult. To be a man who is free to learn and make his own choices about religion and about God. While the father of this boy may not be religious I strongly believe he does have a spiritual side.

.

This spiritual side is what guides him and helps him decide between right and wrong. It helps him in his daily work by encouraging him to learn and to advance his career or job choices. This spiritual side helps him through long shifts and gives him the patience to work with less desirable people or to teach others how to be more efficient. It teaches him and guides him through life’s challenges and tasks. The spiritual side is there when he enjoys fishing and catching fish to feed himself and his family. Sharing his catch with others as Jesus shared and fed his people.

.

The little girl now grown has made several choices and has worked hard to be happy, her father has watched as his daughter has worked so very hard for what she believes in and feels that she has sacrificed enough. It is time for her betrothed to work with her in the final moments leading up to the big day. Her father feels that each can set their own vows, write their own beliefs and while one may want to mention God and Jesus the other need not do so to make the union complete. Rest assured that a prayer will be said at the celebration supper and that God and Jesus will be a huge part of the day even if just through the hearts and love of family and friends.

.

May God be with you little girl, may the hand of Jesus guide you through your life and be there at your side as you grow and as your family, your friends and your church continue to support you and your family.

.

Shalom
